Rajnish Sharma has officially taken charge as the Director (Bangalore Complex) of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking. Sharma’s elevation comes from his previous position as General Manager of BEL’s Military Radars Strategic Business Unit (SBU).
Sharma, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Delhi College of Engineering (1989), began his career with BEL in 1990. Over his impressive 33-year tenure, he has held key roles across various units and SBUs within the company. His extensive experience includes working with core technologies such as Radar Systems, Secure Communication, Electronic Warfare & Avionics, and Naval Missile Systems.
In his new role, Sharma will leverage his rich background, which includes significant contributions to major BEL systems like the Long Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LRSAM). His diverse experience has afforded him a comprehensive understanding of organizational operations, challenges, and the dynamics of working with diverse teams and cultures.
Sharma’s professional journey is marked by several certifications, including Certified Project Management Professional, Certified Manager of Quality and Organisational Excellence, and Six Sigma. His expertise has been instrumental in successfully executing international projects with leading companies such as Thales-France, Selex-Italy, HSA-Holland, RAC-Russia, and IAI-Israel.
Sharma’s engagement with various projects, including the Electronic Voting Machine, Airborne Early Warning & Control System with CABS, Flycatcher, Weapon Locating Radar, Reporter Radar, Revathi, and Rohini Radars, has further refined his skills. His hands-on involvement has been crucial in navigating complex business and production processes essential for BEL’s success.
