On September 25, Embraer announced that SIAEP, a subsidiary of SIA Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC), has become the first Embraer Authorized Service Centre in the Asia-Pacific region to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the E-Jets E2 family of aircraft. SIAEP, which has been an authorized service centre for Embraer’s first-generation E-Jets since 2017, operates three hangars in Clark, Philippines.
“SIAEP has been a key partner for Embraer in the region in the last years. With this new agreement, SIAEP becomes even more strategic for the future of our company in the region, as the E2 fleet grows. We are very pleased with this step ahead on our long-term partnership,” said Mr. Frank Stevens, Vice President of Global MRO Centers for Embraer Services & Support.
Mr. Jeremy Yew, SIAEC’s Senior Vice President Base Maintenance, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to extend our existing partnership with Embraer and play a key role in supporting their growth in the Asia-Pacific region. We look forward to providing quality and efficient base maintenance services to the E2 fleet at our facility in Clark.”
This partnership is a significant component of Embraer’s expansion strategy in the Asia-Pacific region, where the E-Jets fleet, including both first-generation E-Jets and the E-Jets E2, is in operation by airlines across Singapore, Australia, India, Myanmar, Japan, and China. Notably, Scoot has placed a firm order for nine E190-E2 jets, with two already in service since May, making it the first E-Jet E2 operator in Southeast Asia. Additionally, Virgin Australia announced an order for eight E190-E2 jets in August, with deliveries set to begin in the second half of 2025.
The partnership is not expected to have a material impact on the net tangible assets per share or the earnings per share of the SIAEC Group for the financial year ending March 31, 2025. Furthermore, none of the Directors or controlling shareholders of SIAEC have any interest, direct or indirect, in the partnership beyond their shareholdings in the company.
