Embraer has reported a significant 33% year-on-year increase in aircraft deliveries, totalling 57 jets in the third quarter of 2024, compared to 43 during the same period last year. This represents a 24% increase over the previous quarter.
In the latest quarter, Embraer delivered 16 commercial jets and 41 executive jets. Notably, the company also delivered two C-390 Millennium aircraft—the first to Hungary and the seventh to Brazil. Additionally, the first E2 aircraft was delivered to LOT Polish Airlines.
Embraer’s company-wide backlog has reached a record $22.7 billion, marking a more than 25% increase year-on-year and a nearly 10% rise compared to the previous quarter. The Defence & Security segment saw the most significant backlog growth, soaring nearly 70%.
Executive Aviation Highlights
In Executive Aviation, the company delivered 41 jets, representing over a 45% increase year-on-year and more than 50% quarter-on-quarter. The backlog for this segment rose to $4.4 billion, up 3% annually but down 4% sequentially.
The Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 jets accounted for nearly half of the deliveries, while the Phenom 300, recognized as the best-selling aircraft in its category for 12 consecutive years, led the segment with 18 deliveries.
Commercial Aviation Highlights
Commercial Aviation saw 16 jet deliveries, bolstered by 12 units from the E2 family and four from the E1. A key milestone was the delivery of the first E2 aircraft to LOT Polish Airlines, with two additional jets expected by year-end. Virgin Australia also placed an order for eight E190-E2 aircraft during the quarter. The segment’s backlog reached $11.1 billion, nearly 30% higher year-on-year.
Defence & Security Highlights
The Defence & Security sector delivered the first C-390 Millennium to Hungary and the seventh to Brazil. A new contract for nine C-390 aircraft was signed with the Netherlands and Austria during the Farnborough International Airshow. The A-29 Super Tucano also saw increased interest, with sales contracts signed with Paraguay and Uruguay. The backlog for Defense & Security climbed to $3.6 billion, an increase of approximately $1.5 billion or about 70%.
Services & Support Highlights
The Services & Support backlog grew to $3.5 billion, representing over a 25% increase year-on-year. In the third quarter, Embraer expanded its customer support network in the Asia-Pacific region through partnerships with SIA Engineering Corporation and Fokker Services Asia and made direct investments in new facilities in Texas.
