The Indian Army will host the second edition of its flagship international seminar, the Chanakya Defence Dialogue, on October 24 and 25, 2024, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. This year’s theme, “Drivers in Nation Building: Fuelling Growth Through Comprehensive Security,” seeks to promote vital discussions on the integration of security dynamics into national and international policymaking, with a focus on achieving sustainable and inclusive growth.
The two-day event will feature an exceptional assembly of policymakers, strategic thinkers, academics, defence personnel, veterans, scientists, and subject matter experts from India and around the globe. Notable speakers will include representatives from the United States, Russia, Israel, and Sri Lanka. The dialogue will specifically focus on India’s strategic pathways towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, emphasizing the pivotal role of comprehensive security in national development.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the event as the Chief Guest, during which he will launch the Indian Army’s Green Initiative 1.0 and the Digitisation of IA 1.0. Singh will deliver a keynote address on ‘India’s Vision for Development and Security,’ highlighting the significance of comprehensive security in achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047. General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff, will also address attendees, underscoring the Indian Army’s critical contributions to nation-building, particularly in alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The Chanakya Defence Dialogue will comprise six expert-led sessions, each dedicated to exploring vital facets of comprehensive security, setting the stage for insightful discussions and strategic collaborations.
