The Indian Navy’s destroyer INS Delhi, alongside the German Navy’s frigate Baden-Württemberg and tanker Frankfurt Am Main, participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) in the Indian Ocean from October 21 to 23. The exercise featured a range of operations, including cross-deck flying, underway replenishment, weapon firing, and tactical manoeuvres.
This inaugural IN-GN Maritime Partnership Exercise in the Bay of Bengal aims to strengthen maritime connections between India and Germany while enhancing interoperability between their respective navies.
INS Delhi serves as the lead ship of its class of guided missile destroyers and is part of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet. The Baden-Württemberg is the lead ship of the German Navy’s F125 class of frigates, while Frankfurt Am Main is the second ship in the Berlin-class replenishment series of the German Navy.
