Liebherr-Aerospace and Air France KLM Sign Five-Year Maintenance Agreement

Liebherr-Aerospace and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance have signed a five-year Heat Exchanger Maintenance Services Agreement for the Air France KLM Group’s A320ceo/neo and A220 aircraft fleets, as well as for aircraft supported by the French-Dutch MRO provider. The agreement was announced during MRO Europe 2024.

Under this agreement, Liebherr-Aerospace will provide re-coring services for heat exchangers across the Air France KLM Group’s aircraft portfolio. This process involves replacing the matrix of the heat exchangers and will take place at Liebherr-Aerospace’s specialized facility for air management systems in Toulouse, France.

The agreement takes effect immediately and aims to address the ongoing maintenance needs for heat exchangers in the Airbus A320ceo/neo and A220 aircraft. By leveraging Liebherr-Aerospace’s specialized expertise, the partnership seeks to optimize maintenance turnaround times and ensure the continued airworthiness of the fleet.

“This collaboration with Liebherr-Aerospace aligns with our mission to enhance maintenance efficiency and aircraft performance,” stated Robert Pruim, Vice-President Procurement Engineering & Maintenance at Air France KLM Group. “We look forward to working closely together to ensure the highest levels of service for our fleet and our customers.”

“This agreement reflects the solid, long-term partnership built between our two companies based on Liebherr’s quality, performance and competitiveness in the field of heat exchangers. The sharing of our know-how will enable Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance to provide high-performance maintenance services while optimizing return-to-service times. Operators will benefit from our OEM expertise and years of experience in servicing the equipment,” commented Alex Vlielander, Chief Customer Officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS.
