Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Arora officially assumed the role of Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan) today. In a solemn ceremony following his appointment, Air Marshal Arora laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, paying tribute to the courageous personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
Commissioned into the Aeronautical Engineering stream of the IAF in August 1986, Air Marshal Arora brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. He is a graduate of Air Force Technical College, Air Command and Staff College in the USA, and the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. An accomplished electronics and communication engineer, he is also an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and holds a doctorate in Management from the University of Pune.
Throughout his distinguished 38-year career, Air Marshal Arora has held numerous key command and staff positions, including his most recent role as Director General (Aircraft). His exemplary service has been recognized with the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2018 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2024.
As he embarks on this new chapter, his leadership is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the operational readiness and maintenance capabilities of the Indian Air Force.
