Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) 2024 Concludes Successfully

The 31st edition of the Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) took place from October 23 to 29, 2024, featuring participation from the Republic of Singapore Navy’s RSS Tenacious and the Indian Navy’s INS Shivalik, along with a Long-Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft, P8I.

The exercise commenced with a Harbour phase held in Visakhapatnam from October 23 to 25, which included Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), cross-deck visits, sports events, and pre-sail discussions aimed at fostering collaboration and understanding between the two navies.

The Sea phase took place on October 28 and 29 in the Bay of Bengal, where advanced exercises focused on anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine operations. The drills included seamanship exercises and tactical manoeuvres, further enhancing the interoperability and operational readiness of both naval forces.

SIMBEX 2024 not only showcased the commitment of both nations to maritime security but also strengthened the bonds of cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy.
