Suhora: Leading the Way in Space Technology

Krishanu Acharya,

CEO and Co-Founder,  Suhora

Suhora is at the forefront of utilizing space-based data to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges, from security threats to environmental disasters. Through innovative platforms like SPADE, MIRKA, and Horizon.ai, the company is bridging the gap between complex geospatial data and practical, life-saving solutions. “By leveraging real-time data from satellites, we can provide actionable insights to manage security threats, natural disasters, and environmental challenges,” says Krishanu Acharya, CEO and Co-Founder of Suhora. In an interview with Aeromag Asia, he shares how Suhora’s groundbreaking use of space technology is revolutionizing industries and shaping the future of space analytics.

Suhora envisions a future where space analytics are integral to our world. How do you believe these analytics can enhance everyday lives and promote global safety?

Space analytics hold transformative potential for addressing some of humanity’s biggest challenges. By leveraging real-time data from satellites, we can provide actionable insights to manage security threats, natural disasters, and environmental challenges. These analytics help ensure faster disaster response, enable better resource allocation, and monitor critical infrastructure to prevent catastrophic failures.

For example, in national security, space-based intelligence strengthens border surveillance and maritime safety. On a broader scale, this technology empowers governments and organizations with the data needed to make informed decisions, promoting a safer, more resilient world. At Suhora, we strive to bridge the gap between complex geospatial data and practical, life-saving applications.

How does Suhora use space-based imaging to track land deformation and detect small ground movements from natural and human activities?

Suhora employs advanced satellite imaging, including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and other multi-sensor systems, to track and analyze land deformation with sub-centimeter accuracy. SAR, in particular, is invaluable for detecting subtle ground movements caused by earthquakes, landslides, mining activities, and even subsidence from urban development.

By integrating this data into our platforms like SPADE, we create real-time visualizations and analytics for monitoring vulnerable areas. These insights enable stakeholders to anticipate risks, mitigate damage, and ensure safer infrastructure planning. Our systems provide users with early warnings and predictive analysis, making critical interventions possible before disasters occur.

Could you explain how MIRKA combines human expertise and artificial intelligence to enhance operations in the defence sector?

MIRKA is designed as a next-generation ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) platform that fuses AI-driven analytics with human expertise to deliver unparalleled operational capabilities. With Horizon.ai, our proprietary context-generation engine, MIRKA leverages small language models specifically trained for IMINT (Imagery Intelligence) to interpret complex geospatial data in real-time.

This combination of AI and human insight allows MIRKA to provide decision-makers with actionable intelligence for threat detection, classification, and scenario creation. Its ability to integrate multi-sensor data from SAR, EO, and thermal imaging, along with OSINT and ELINT feeds, enables users to track, monitor, and act on any given area of interest swiftly.

By blending the speed and precision of AI with the contextual understanding of human analysts, MIRKA ensures military-grade accuracy for strategic and tactical operations.

What specific industries does Suhora cater to, and do you have any plans to expand into additional sectors?

Suhora primarily operates in the defence, disaster response, and environmental monitoring sectors. Rather than diversifying into unrelated domains, we focus on vertical growth within these areas, adding more value and capabilities to our existing offerings.

  • Defence: We are exploring advancements in Battlefield Management Systems (BMS), quantum encryption for secure communication, and AI-driven threat prediction. Additionally, we are integrating physics-based simulations for asset identification and classification, leveraging predictive models to analyze and report real-time conflict scenarios. This capability allows us to simulate and predict the movement of swarms and other elements within a virtual 3D environment, enabling decision-makers to monitor, report, and respond more effectively.
  • Disaster Response: We aim to expand into areas like real-time flood modeling, wildfire spread prediction, and urban resilience planning, helping communities prepare for and recover from natural calamities.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Our plans include innovations in greenhouse gas tracking, illegal deforestation detection, mining risk assessment, and Infrastructure Development monitoring and derisking, ensuring sustainable development and resource optimization.

By growing vertically within these sectors and introducing cutting-edge simulation and predictive modeling, Suhora is building a robust ecosystem of solutions that address the world’s most pressing challenges, while positioning itself as a leader in space analytics.

Closing Thought:

Suhora’s mission is clear: to transform global surveillance and analytics into proactive solutions for security and environmental challenges. With innovative platforms like SPADE, MIRKA, and Horizon.ai, we aim to redefine the future of space technology for the greater good.
