To address the emerging challenges of modern warfare, a conference titled “Transparent Warfare: Equipping and Training to Win” will take place on 18 December 2024 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. This daylong event will bring together defence leaders, experts, and policymakers to discuss the evolving landscape of warfare, emphasizing the critical need for advanced training and cutting-edge equipment. The conference will explore the complexities of transparent warfare, focusing on how to effectively prepare military personnel to operate in an environment shaped by rapid technological advancements and increasingly sophisticated threats.
The nature of warfare has been fundamentally transformed by advancements in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) technologies, enabling unprecedented precision in targeting both front-line positions and rear-echelon formations once considered secure. Today’s battlefield is increasingly transparent, with a combination of military-grade ISR systems and commercial technologies providing real-time, geo-tagged imagery. This shift, alongside the growing threats of cyberwarfare and deep fakes, presents new challenges for defence forces.
Various eminent speakers will throw light on addressing these daunting challenges. The conference will begin with the Inaugural Session on Transparent Warfare: Equipping and Training to Win which will be followed by Plenary 1 on Equipping and Training Imperatives. Plenary 2 will feature a Fireside Chat discussing the facilitative framework. The event will also include Panel 1 on Innovation & Technology Development for Transparent Warfare and Panel 2 on Simulations and Training Aids for Transparent Warfare. The conference will conclude with the Closing Rapporteurs Report.
