NADCAP Training Course to be Held in Bengaluru

A 2-day training course on introduction to NADCAP accreditation and NADCAP Chemical Processing Audit will be held on December 19th and 20th at the MSME Development & Facilitation Office in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru. It is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the NADCAP accreditation methodology for aerospace special processes and commodities.

NADCAP, or the National Aerospace and Defence Contractors Accreditation Program, is an industry-managed approach that ensures conformity assessment of special processes in the AS&D sector. It brings together technical experts, prime contractors, suppliers, and government representatives to establish standardized global requirements for the approval of suppliers. The accreditation is crucial for those providing services for airworthy components and products used in the aerospace and defence industry, as it ensures that special processes are validated and periodically revalidated to maintain process robustness.

The course will cover several key topics over two days. On Day 1, attendees will be introduced to the NADCAP accreditation requirements, audit process, and methodology. Participants will also learn about NADCAP operating procedures, common non-conformance areas (NCRs), and the steps involved in preparing for a successful NADCAP audit. A key focus will be on understanding self-audit and compliance requirements, as well as the benefits of NADCAP accreditation. Additionally, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and how to choose the right consultant for audit preparation will be discussed.

Day 2 will focus on NADCAP Chemical Processing Audit, where participants will engage in a detailed discussion of the current Chemical Processing Audit checklists, including an in-depth review of the AC-7108 Revision. The course will conclude with a course evaluation and final remarks.

The training will be led by Debashis Dutta, a renowned aerospace engineer and metallurgist with extensive experience in the field. He will guide participants through the technical aspects of NADCAP Chemical Processing Audits, with a focus on the AC-7108 Revision checklist.

This training is ideal for engineers and managers working in special purpose organizations such as heat treaters, chemical processors, welding and fabrication houses, testing labs, and NDT labs. It is also suited for individuals involved in the production of special products and systems, including composites manufacturers, PCB manufacturers, and elastomer and sealant manufacturers. The course is open to those who are considering setting up aerospace special processing systems and manufacturing facilities for the A&D industry. The training fee is Rs 4,000 per participant, plus 18% GST (total Rs 4,720).

This training initiative aims to provide industry professionals with the necessary knowledge to navigate the complexities of NADCAP accreditation and prepare for successful audits. It is expected to play a significant role in enhancing the quality and compliance standards of special process providers in the aerospace and defence sectors.
