At the LIMA 2025, Jeyagopal P, Additional General Manager and Head of Marketing & Sales for Military Radars at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), has highlighted the company’s strong product portfolio and growth prospects. BEL’s Weapon Locating Radar (WLR) and counter-drone system are in high demand, with the latter being particularly sought after due to its hard-kill and soft-kill options.
The WLR has proven its effectiveness in modern warfare and has been exported to countries like Armenia, with demonstrations conducted in Saudi Arabia. There are also queries from Morocco and Egypt, and BEL is working on upgrading its Shilka air defense system for the Indian Army.
With a strong order book position of around Rs 2000 crore for military radars, BEL is poised for significant growth, expecting to secure another Rs 2000 crore in orders within the next one or two months. The company’s potential order book for military radars is valued between Rs 5000 crore to Rs 6000 crore.
BEL is also developing new products, including low-level lightweight radars (LLR) and battlefield surveillance radars with advanced technologies. These products are expected to be released by the end of the year, further boosting the company’s growth prospects.
BEL is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for advanced radar systems, both domestically and internationally. With its strong product portfolio and ongoing development of new technologies, the company is expected to continue its growth trajectory in the coming years.
