LIMA 2025 Continues to Showcase Cutting-Edge Defence and Aerospace Technology

The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025 is into its second day, with the aerospace segment at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) and Resorts World Langkawi continuing to impress with its air displays, including a showcase by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

India’s indigenous defence capabilities are on display, featuring the Indo-Russian BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system and the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)-manufactured Hindustan-228 aircraft. An Indian Naval Ship is participating in LIMA 2025 as a goodwill gesture, demonstrating India’s commitment to regional security.


The Malaysia Maritime Conference (MMC 25) was held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), jointly organised by the Royal Malaysian Navy and Global Exhibition & Conference. The conference, inaugurated by Defence Minister of Malaysia, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, serves as a crucial platform to align national maritime priorities with global best practices.

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth inaugurated an ‘India Pavillion’ that showcases India’s indigenous defence industry prowess at LIMA 2025. The pavilion features indigenous highlighting India’s strategic push for self-reliance in defence.

The participation of India in LIMA 2025 underscores the country’s growing stature in defence production. India and Malaysia have a robust and multi-faceted relationship, which has expanded into several strategic areas, including defence and security, under a comprehensive strategic partnership established in 2024.

LIMA, established in 1991 and held biennially, is regarded as one of the largest and most significant maritime and aerospace exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific region. The event provides a platform for defence and aerospace cooperation among participating countries, promoting regional security and stability.
