Organized by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) this year’s conference is themed “Technology Management in Defence Sector for Vision India @2047,” aiming to align the country’s defence technologies with the national goal of self-reliance by 2047.

In his opening address, General Chauhan emphasized the importance of collaboration among industry, research and development organizations, and military services to achieve ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in defence and make India a ‘Sashakt, Surakshit & Viksit Bharat’. He called for a paradigm shift in mindset, urging stakeholders to innovate and develop unique solutions that benefit the Armed Forces and the nation.

The conference commenced with a roundtable discussion titled “Harnessing Futuristic Technologies and Strengthening Indigenous Capabilities for Vision India @2047.” Dr Samir V. TECHMA 2024 features a range of themes, including futuristic defence technologies, strategic technology management for 2047, project management excellence in defence, and value engineering and commercialization. Insights gathered from the conference are anticipated to bolster India’s indigenous R&D ecosystem, pinpoint multidisciplinary research areas, enhance project management processes, and develop solutions for future defence technologies. This initiative aims to address technical, logistical, and implementation challenges, positioning India as a global leader in defence by 2047.
