Dr Joshi’s career is marked by his significant contributions to India’s missile development programs. He played a key role in the development of the Prithvi Missile System, India’s first surface-to-surface missile, which strengthened the country’s strategic defence capabilities. His contributions extended to the Agni Missile Program, where he was instrumental in designing and executing India’s long-range ballistic missile system, a vital component of the nation’s deterrence strategy. Dr Joshi also served as the Deputy Project Director for the LRSAM Program, where he led the development of critical technologies for the Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile, enhancing India’s air defence capabilities.

Over the years, he has trained and certified more than 600 professionals in various NDT techniques, such as radiography, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and penetrant testing. As the Chairman of the Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ISNT), he has been a driving force in advancing the technical capabilities of India’s defence manufacturing sector.

Dr Joshi’s leadership in both missile technology and NDT positions him as a key figure in India’s defence innovation. His appointment as Chief of BrahMos Aerospace marks an exciting new chapter for the organization, furthering its role as a global leader in defence technology.
