PBS TJ200 engine was unveiled in Paris by Lukáš Vlček, Minister for Industry and Trade, Czech Republic. The engine will be presented to customers for the first time at the Paris Air Show.
Global company PBS GROUP pushes the boundaries of its technology with the introduction of the new PBS TJ200 jet engine. The most powerful engine in the company’s portfolio to date, it brings a completely new design approach and has successfully completed a rigorous testing programme. Its launch at the 55th International Paris Air Show symbolizes a further step towards its practical deployment and opens the way for its first specific applications.
“PBS is a great example of an innovative Czech company that has worked its way into the elite club of the world’s aircraft engine manufacturers. Their high value-added products in the aerospace and defence industry show the direction the Czech economy should take, in line with our Economic Strategy: the Czech Republic in the top 10. I am all the more pleased that this success story was born in my home region – Vysočina. I wish a lot of world success not only with the new engine and I am proud that our nation is once again at the top,” said Minister Lukáš Vlček at the unveiling ceremony.
The main production plant of PBS GROUP in Velká Bíteš has completed the development of the latest PBS TJ200 jet engine. This breakthrough motor with a new technical concept achieves a continuous thrust of 2,280 N and a thrust of 2,700 N for 30 seconds, thus significantly enriching the company’s existing product portfolio. While the PBS GROUP’s existing motors covered a tensile range of 0.4 to 1.5 kN, the new motor with more than 50% increase in tension compared to the TJ150 significantly expands the application possibilities.
The engine is equipped with highly advanced FADEC electronic control, a reliable BLDC starter-generator and a unique fuel lubricated design for maximum operating efficiency. The new engine also boasts low fuel consumption in its performance category.
Thanks to its innovative design, the PBS TJ200 finds a wide range of applications. Drones, guided missiles and target practice find the PBS TJ200 the ideal propulsion unit. Seawater resistance is also a major advantage, which is essential for deployment in marine applications. The revolutionary design opens up new possibilities for use in defence systems and commercial unmanned solutions where high performance is required while maintaining compact dimensions.
PBS is now accepting enquiries about the new PBS TJ200 engine. This will provide unmanned systems manufacturers and defence industry companies with a powerplant that combines exceptional power with a compact footprint.
“We are receiving preliminary orders from major manufacturers from different parts of the world. The design of the new engine is designed to meet current customer requirements, and we believe that the PBS TJ200 will soon become the flagship product of our portfolio,” added PBS GROUP CEO Ing. Petr Kádner.
The company is also working with the Ukrainian company Ivchenko Progress to develop the AI-PBS-350 jet engine. This project was officially presented to the professional public at the Farnborough International Airshow in 2024. After the completion of development work and put into production, the AI-PBS-350 engine will add another high-performance unit with significant market potential to the PBS GROUP portfolio. It will find its application in cruise missiles and larger unmanned aerial vehicles.
