Developed jointly by HAVELSAN and Yonca Shipyard, the SANCAR Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle (AUSV) has successfully completed live-fire trials in the Marmara Sea. Observed by representatives of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, the tests confirmed the AUSV’s precision in engaging targets with its 12.7 mm Stabilized Weapon System, fully integrated with ADVENT ROTA and controlled via the ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS).

With this success, SANCAR becomes the first and only Armed USV fully integrated with ADVENT, capable of target engagement, mine detection, and autonomous mission execution. The milestone underscores HAVELSAN’s ability to fuse network-enabled warfare with autonomous systems, proving the platform’s readiness for operational deployment.

Strategic Flexibility for Modern Navies

In today’s unpredictable maritime security environment, navies require platforms that are fast, agile, and fully autonomous. SANCAR AUSV addresses this demand with multi-mission flexibility, covering a wide range of operations from base and port protection to intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), mine countermeasures, and search and rescue. Its advanced sensor suite—including navigation radar, AIS, electro-optical cameras, sonar, and 360° surveillance—ensures real-time situational awareness and trusted decision supportin high-risk zones.

Seamless Integration with ADVENT ROTA

At the core of SANCAR lies ADVENT ROTA, a mission system derived from HAVELSAN’s ADVENT CMS and specifically tailored for unmanned platforms. This architecture ensures full interoperability with the Turkish Naval Forces’ inventory, enabling coordinated missions between manned and unmanned assets. Proven in real-world scenarios such as task handover, swarm operations, and coordinated strikes, it represents the first operational example of network-centric warfare executed through an unmanned naval platform.

Scalable Weapons and Payload OptionsThanks to its open architecture, SANCAR can be quickly adapted to different mission requirements:

  1. 12.7 mm remote-controlled weapon system, validated in live-fire trials
  2. Guided missile payloads for credible deterrence
  3. Sonar and mine countermeasure systems for subsurface threats

This flexibility enhances SANCAR’s operational value and creates strong export potential for allied and partner navies seeking scalable, interoperable, and cost-effective solutions.

Resilient Communications and Technical Specifications

SANCAR ensures uninterrupted command and control through a redundant, multi-layered communication system supported by RF LOS, SATCOM, and LTE connectivity. Its GNSS-based navigation and Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS) enable seamless integration of all onboard systems.

Key Specifications:

  1. Length: 12,7 m | Width: 3,3 m | Displacement: 9 tons
  2. Propulsion: 2× Diesel Engines, 2× Waterjets
  3. Max Speed: >40 knots | Endurance: 400 nm @ 10 knots
  4. Seaworthiness: Operable up to Sea State 4
  5. Control: Modular, portable Ground Control Station

A Force Multiplier for Global Navies

With its autonomy, modular payload capacity, and secure communications, SANCAR AUSV is more than a naval platform—it is a force multiplier for modern fleets. Its NATO-compliant architecture, cost efficiency, and field-proven capabilities provide operational flexibility, enhanced personnel safety, and long-term value. SANCAR is positioned to strengthen both national and allied naval forces, addressing today’s operational demands while adapting to tomorrow’s challenges.
