Rafael led its presence at DSEI 2025 in London with the debut of the IRON BEAM 450, a high-energy laser beam director. Yoav Tourgeman, CEO and President of Rafael, remarked, “The unveiling of the IRON BEAM 450 at DSEI shows how breakthroughs in high-power laser technology revolutionizes the air defense equation, enabling very low-cost, high-efficiency interceptions. Alongside our air defense, TROPHY, counter-UAS, and naval systems, Rafael is delivering integrated solutions that meet the needs of today and prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.”
The IRON BEAM 450 extended Rafael’s laser portfolio with greater range, speed of interception, and a sustainable cost-per-engagement model. It joined the company’s High Energy Laser Weapon System family, which also included the mobile IRON BEAM-M, the Naval IRON BEAM, and the compact LITE BEAM™. Together these systems provided a layered set of integrated directed-energy solutions as part of national air defense architecture.
Rafael also presented its complete air and missile defense framework, which integrated IRON DOME® for short-range aerial threats, DAVID’S SLING®, co-developed with the United States, for long-range interception, the SPYDER® family for mobile medium-range air defense, the MIC4AD™ situational awareness and command-and-control system, SKY SPOTTER™ passive surveillance, and the DRONE DOME® counter-UAS solution. This structure allowed countries to cost-effectively tailor layered defenses to their needs while ensuring interoperability with allied forces.
TROPHY Active Protection
In the land domain, Rafael featured TROPHY, the world’s first and only operational active protection system for armored vehicles. TROPHY was deployed on main battle tanks and armored fighting vehicles with several armies, protecting crews and platforms against anti-armor threats and establishing APS as a core requirement for maneuver forces.
Counter-UAS Systems
Rafael’s stand also included its counter-UAS portfolio: DRONE DOME®, LITE BEAM™, SPECTRUM DOME™, SAMSON™ 30mm, GHOST HUNTER™, and HUNTER EAGLE™. These systems provided layered protection against drones, swarms, and loitering munitions and could be deployed rapidly to secure forces and infrastructure.
Maritime Defense
Rafael’s naval suite included C-DOME™, the maritime variant of IRON DOME®, Naval IRON BEAM™, TORBUSTER™ anti-torpedo defense, and C-GEM™ electronic warfare decoys. These systems gave navies scalable options to protect vessels in both littoral and open-sea operations, with an open-architecture design that supported integration across fleets.
