Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) CEO Boaz Levy has been appointed Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors following approval by Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz, Minister in charge of the Government Companies Authority Dudi Amsalem, the company’s Board of Directors, and the Senior Appointments Committee. The appointment marks a historic first for an Israeli government-owned company, making Levy the first serving CEO to simultaneously assume the role of Chairman within the same organisation.
Defense Minister Israel Katz, said, “This unprecedented step brings together deep managerial, technological and defense experience to IAI’s Board of Directors. Boaz Levy has demonstrated an exceptional ability over the years to lead IAI to significant achievements, both in terms of defense as well as economically. As someone who evolved in IAI over the last few decades, Boaz knows the company in depth and I am certain that his broad and deep familiarity with all levels of the organization and the extensive experience he has accumulated provide him with a unique ability to lead the Board of Directors at this significant point in time. Prime Minister Netanyahu and I are leading a broad-based strategic plan, with an investment of hundreds of billions of shekels, to build the military power of the State of Israel and achieve self-reliance in defense. IAI plays a key role in this national process, and I am certain that Boaz Levy is the right person to lead significant security processes, accelerate the development and production of advanced systems, and strengthen the qualitative superiority of the State of Israel.”

Boaz Levy has served as CEO of Israel Aerospace Industries since 2020. Levy began his career at IAI in 1990 as an engineer on the Arrow program and later held several key positions in the company, including head of the Arrow program, head of the Barak program, director of the Air-Defense Systems Plant, and EVP of the Systems, Missiles and Space Group. Levy holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering and a master’s degree in systems engineering - both from Israel’s Institute of Technology. He has thirty-five years of experience in financial, technological, business, management, and marketing fields, as well as leading a long line of huge transactions with clients around the world.
