HFCL is set to enter the ammunition manufacturing sector with the establishment of a new Defence Ammunition Complex in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh marking a significant expansion of the company’s presence in India’s defence and aerospace industry.
India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the facility on May 15, 2026, in the presence of N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
The event will also be attended by T. G. Bharath and G. Satheesh Reddy, Honorary Advisor for Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing to the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The manufacturing facility will be established at R. Anantapur and Gowdanahalli in Madakasira Taluk, Sri Sathya Sai district, and is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening India’s indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem and ammunition production capabilities.
